The air balloon symbolizes a new journey, reaching new heights and going to places never been before. In the background is Lukas’s face with a map of the Swartland in it, indicating the origin of the wine. The three leaves on the right showcase the number of cultivars in the blend. The fisherman symbolizes how we always have high hopes when we try something new or when we go out to achieve something great. We’ve also added a wheat stalk to give tribute to the Swartland where a lot of wheat is the main crop for most farmers. In the summer, when the wheat harvest has been removed from the fields, the dormant fields give the countryside its “black” look, and that’s where the term Swartland hails from.
